Azal Coffee is a Yemeni coffee house based in Dearborn, Michigan. It launched in October 2023, and its first franchise opened in April 2025 on South 1st Street, in Milwaukee’s Harbor District.
The skit
Who drank it?
A Spanish latte is set down at the counter and comes back half empty. “What the heck? Who drank this?” The barista asks the room, and the answer walks in behind her, in an Azal apron and a foam moustache. Ten seconds, and the drink is the punchline.
The cup
Off, on
Some films are shot from above, on Azal’s marble and its blue cups. In one, coffee beans on the counter spell “off” and “on”, and a cup of plain milk switches to a finished latte. In another, beans go into a cup like cereal, with milk and a spoon, and the next cut is the latte they become.
The bar
The photo
A guest at the bar takes a photo of his coffee. Behind the counter, the baristas strike a pose to be in it. Six seconds about the photo everyone takes at a good café.
